Brilliant filly who has won nine of her 11 starts, three of them Grade 1s. She is the best weighted runner, loves the course and distance and looks a stand-out bet.

Well-performed four-year-old who did beat Captain’s Ransom in Greyville but has been well beaten in three other meetings in Kenilworth. Place prospects.

Another filly who has been living in the shadow of Captain’s Ransom, although she has got a lot closer in their last two meetings. Expected to contest the finish.

She’s A Keeper

Has run well in Greyville but has been beaten twice by Captain’s Ransom in Kenilworth. Unlikely to reverse the placings over 1600m.

Santa Therese

An eight-time winner in Fairview this filly is likely to find herself outclassed in this line-up. Finished behind many of these in the Paddock Stakes but could place.

Pretty Betty

Had a good run against much weaker opposition during the winter but looks well held by these runners on past performances.

Major Attraction

Decent filly who finished second behind Captain’s Ransom in the Diana Stakes over 1400m at Durbanville but has yet to prove she will see out 1600m.

Chansonette

Top filly who won the G1 Cape Fillies Guineas and then nearly upset Captain’s Ransom in the Paddock Stakes. Will prefer this trip and looks the main threat to the favourite.

Mercury Rising

Had every chance when fourth in the Cape Fillies Guineas and is unlikely to reverse the form with Chansonette. Not sure to stay 1600m.

Kailene

A decent two-year-old but has yet to find her juvenile form since turning three. Is well held on current form and will need to improve to feature.
