Georgeville

His two career wins came over further than this, but he is an effective 1600m horse as he showed when a close second in a G3 here last month.

Maker Of Kings

In great form in 2021 with three narrow defeats and a G3 1600m victory here. Only just failed to catch a G1 winner in a G3 here last time. Best on good or slower ground.

Njord

A tough five-times winner who has been placed in a G3 and twice in G2’s this year, latterly over 1400m at Newbury. He may now find this longer trip more suitable.

Real Appeal

Has plenty of Leopardstown experience including two 1400m – one at G3 level – wins this season. Some worry that 1600m may be too far, but his trainer is not concerned.

Mac Swiney

Has gained two G1 wins over this trip, both under aggressive tactics. Supporters will hope that a return to 1600m will bring a revival after some G1 disappointments.

Erzindjan

His runs at this track have mostly been good and was doing some decent late work when fourth in a 1600m G3 here last month. Will want a fast pace to aim at.

Horoscope

Ran poorly in a handicap two starts back, but bounced back to winning form in Listed company at Killarney last month. A lazy colt but should be competitive at G2 level.

Khartoum

A big horse whose two career wins came on soft ground. Got upset in the gate when favourite for a Listed event last time and was always struggling.

Lunar Space

Has finished last both times he has run on this track – not very encouraging. He also struggled on his latest start, and is hard to fancy.

Military Style

Having his first start for about a year but showed plenty of promise in 2020, notably when leading throughout to win a 1400m G3 here. An interesting contender.

Snapraeterea

His fourth career win came last time with a best-ever effort. Under a positive ride he was well in command of that 1400m Listed race at Cork last month. Slow ground is ideal.

Thunder Moon

A G1 winner in 2020 but, though his four 2021 runs have been in G1 company, three have been disappointing. But chances here if repeating his close second at Deauville.

Fev Rover

Her excellent two-year-old career was enhanced when third in a G1 Newmarket Classic on her 2021 return. Not so good in two starts since, but potential to do better.
