G2 – 1600m – Turf

Absolute Ruler Has a classy pedigree and that showed on his career debut when convincingly beating 11 rivals in a maiden over this trip on the Dundalk all-weather track last month.
Atomic Jones Despite inexperience he showed enough pace to narrowly win a 1400m maiden on his only career start at The Curragh in June. The form of that race has not worked out well.
Buckaroo A big colt who should handle this track better than at Galway where he became unbalanced but he still managed to win a maiden there in July.
Howth A big strong colt who outclassed his rivals on his handicap debut two starts back. In a similar event at The Curragh subsequently he ran poorly, always behind.
I am Magic Although his lead was fast being reduced at the line, he held on to win a 1400m maiden at Galway in July. A trip to the UK did not pay off when well beaten at Salisbury.
John The Baptist Well bred but already a gelding prior to his debut when he started at huge odds for a Curragh maiden in July, but he finished strongly to grab the winners’ money close home.
Manu Et Corde Strong at the finish when winning a maiden over this course and distance in July. Not at all disgraced but couldn’t cope with G2 opposition on soft ground at The Curragh.
Maritime Wings A winner on his debut he then had the misfortune of encountering probably Ireland’s top two-year-old, still running really well in those 1400m races, a G3 and G2. Good chance if 1600m helps.
Once Upon A River A slow developer according to his trainer but that did not stop him from leading most of the way to win a maiden in June. Off since – and this is tougher – but he looks smart.
Stone Age Two encouraging starts out of two so far. Latterly when leading most of the way in a Galway maiden, just finding one rival too strong in the closing stages.
