The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) would like to inform the public that the betting services of football and Mark Six through Online Betting Service (eWin), Classic 3-in-1, “GoalX” mobile app and Off-Course Betting Branches have been resumed. In addition, other services being disrupted since this morning including information display on Club webpages and Customer Care and Membership hotline services have also returned to normal. Furthermore, online digital fund transfer and payout services have also resumed.
The incident occurred at around 6:09am this morning as the Club identified network equipment failure during our daily system maintenance exercise. Immediate actions have been undertaken to ascertain the systems being affected and the degree of impact. It was found that multiple systems of various service scopes across the network on both Data Center sites were affected, resulting in increased complexity and prolonged recovery time.
The Club is deeply sorry for not being able to resume the betting services much earlier today. We sincerely apologise for having disappointed our customers as a result. We are indebted to them for their patience and understanding. We take this incident very seriously and will surely examine its root cause to prevent recurrence.
