Listed – 1200m – Turf
| Coachello | French-trained winner of a Listed race at Longchamp – he carries a 3lb penalty for that success – who ran well when second on his next start. Last time out did not appear to handle the very soft ground over this course and distance so needs the sun to shine. |
| Coefficiente | Looked a horse with a promising future when winning at Compiegne on her second start in April. Has not run since and while she comes from a top yard, she may be best watched this time. |
| Coul Queen | British-based trainer sent a horse over to win here last month and so her connections are respected. She has been running in handicaps and on ratings she looks up against it with one or two of these. |
| Ivresse | She has yet to race in this kind of company and has been brought along quietly, winning a Class 2 conditions race and then finishing third in a Class 1. She needs to improve again but is bred to do so. |
| Livachope | A very speedy filly as a two-year-old last year but there has to be a chance that she has not continued to progress as some of her rivals here. Needs to bounce back from three average runs. |
| London Royal | Travels over from Ireland for a trainer whose last runner in France was back in 2013. Despite only winning a maiden in three starts his rating is not too far behind most of these and another step forward in form cannot be ruled out. |
| Millau | Ran second in a Listed race here over course and distance last month and is open to improvement on what will only be his fifth lifetime start. One for the shortlist. |
| Mo Celita | Has improved through the ranks for a change of trainer and won her first five starts this season. She was only beaten a length in a handicap at Royal Ascot but looked well held in a Group 3 at York last time. On ratings she doesn’t have much to find but she has had a busy campaign and might find one or two too good. |
| Peaches | She is not too far below the best three-year-old fillies in Germany at a mile and her trainer knows what it takes to win in France. The big unknown is whether she has the speed to be effective over 1,200 metres on this speed-favouring straight track. |
| Prince Lancelot | Seems to reserve his best for Deauville’s straight track, including when third behind Fast Raaj in the Group 3 Prix Djebel in April. He failed to stay the distance in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains over 1,600 metres and may not have enjoyed the soft ground last time. Needs to bounce back and good ground would be a help. |
| San Isidro | Finished a distant fourth in a couple of Group races for two-year-olds last autumn but the balance of his form leaves him with a fair bit to find with the best of these. |
| Satisfied | She has progressed through the handicap ranks for a trainer who knows how to gradually improve his horses. Third in a Listed race over course and distance and by no means out of consideration. |
| Stardevote | Has the second best rating in the race and the pick of her form would give her a big chance. She wasn’t disgraced when seventh in the Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches over 1,600 metres and looks likely to appreciate this drop back in trip. Not beaten far in a Listed race over 1,400 metres on her last start. |
| Urgent Appeal | Looked progressive on the Chantilly all-weather but has struggled in two runs on soft turf. Among the more likely winners if the ground is good or firm and 3lb penalty for winning at Listed level may not stop him. |
| Valloria | A close-up fourth in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat over 1,400 metres of this track last month makes her the highest-rated horse in the field. Carries a 3lb penalty for her Listed win at Longchamp the time before but a leading player if handling this drop down in distance. |
| Ventura Diamond | Three best career performances have come with a win and two places at Listed level, all on heavy or soft ground. She has been supplemented in the hope that rain arrives by a trainer has an excellent record when sending runners across from Britain to Deauville. |
