G2 – 2400m – Turf
1 |
Al Zaraqaan |
Stable in great form. This colt has won his last four starts, crushing some smart rivals on the Kempton all-weather last time. No reason according to pedigree why he should not also thrive on turf. |
2 |
Pablo Escobar |
His final start of 2020 was a rare disappointment for this consistent horse. Previously always travelling nicely when winning a G3 at Goodwood. Trip ideal and no worries about the 252-day absence. |
3 |
Pyledriver |
Proved his long odds wrong when winning a G2 at Royal Ascot later winning another G2 and then a close third in a G1. Occasionally disappoints but very good on his day. A strong gallop would help. |

Sir Ron Priestley |
Has a fantastic attitude, loving a battle. Runner-up in the St Leger, a G1 UK Classic, in September 2019 and kicked off 2021 with a good win. Has lots of stamina but speed also. Best on good ground or faster. |
5 |
Thunderous |
His recent return at Sandown was modest without any obvious excuse except possibly for a lack of race fitness. A G2 winner last July, but there must be some stamina questions for this 2400m. |
