G1 – 2000m – Turf

1 Mozu Bello Four-time winner over 1800m to 2400m in 17 career starts.  Finished a distant 3rd behind Chrono Genesis in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen (2200m) last June.  Unplaced in both runs at G2 level this term.  Hold-up runner.  No ground issues.
   
2 Salios Highly talented 4YO colt. G1 winner at 2, also twice G1 runner-up behind Triple Crown winner Contrail last year.  Claimed the G2 Mainichi Okan (1800m) in October. Then a luckless 5th in the G1 Mile Championship in November latest.  Races close to speed but can race from behind.  Has run on firm and good to firm.
3 Ardently Four wins between 1200m and 2000m from 27 starts.  Showed improvement in two runs over 1800m this term.  Usually races handy but can settle from deeper.  No track issues.
4 Bravas Shown consistency with five wins over 1800m and 2000m, most recently his first graded race win in the G3 Niigata Kinen (2000m) last September. No match for Gibeon in the G2 Kinko Sho (2000m) in March latest.   Races midfield or better.  No track worries.
5 Persian Knight Veteran 7YO with 4 wins at 1600m and 1800m, including the 2017 G1 Mile Championship, from 30 runs.  Ran a smart 1L 2nd to Normcore in the G2 Sapporo Kinen (2000m) last August but finished below par last 3 runs.  Hold-up runner.  Best on firm and good to firm.
6 Wagnerian Winner of the 2018 G1 Japanese Derby (2400m).  Five wins between 1800m and 2400m from 14 runs.  Returned from eight-month break to finish 5th in the G2 Kyoto Kinen (2200m) on 14 February latest.  Hold-up runner.  No track worries.
7 Contrail Took the G1 Kikuka Sho (3000m) last October to become the third unbeaten Japanese Triple Crown winner in 2020. Tasted his first career defeat when held off by super mare Almond Eye for a 1.25L 2nd in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m) last November.  This will be his seasonal bow.  Races midfield or better.  Tested on firm and good to firm.
8 Lei Papale Talented 4YO filly. Extended her unbeaten run to 5 when notching her first graded race win in the G3 Challenge Cup at the course and distance last December.  Races handy.  Has run only on firm and good to firm.
9 Crescendo Love Two-time G3 winner over 2000m, most recently taking the Tanabata Sho at Fukushima last July.  Never a threat in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m) and the G1 Arima Kinen (2500m) at the end of last term.  Races from midfield or further.  No ground worries.
10 Cadenas Has won four over 1800m and 2000m, up to G2 level.  Captured his 3rd graded race win in the G3 Kokura Daishoten (1800m) last February, but unplaced in 7 runs since.  Hold up runner.  Best on firm and good to firm.
11 Happy Grin Debuted at the NAR circuit.  Career best to date a neck 2nd in the Listed Sapporo Nikkei Open (2600m) in 2019.  Transferred to JRA in October 2019, best finish a 4th in a 2000m G3 but well beaten last 3 runs.  Hold-up runner.  No ground issues.
12 Gran Alegria Currently the best sprinter-miler in Japan.  Finished a brave 2nd in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen (1200m) last March but captured 3 G1 wins since.  Displayed her signature turn of foot in each of her three straight wins in the G1 Yasuda Kinen (1600m) in June, the G1 Sprinters Stakes (1200m) in October and the G1 Mile Championship in November.  Stepping up to this distance for the first time. Can race held up or sit handy.  No track worries.
13 Admire Virgo A highly regarded colt.  Four-time winner, including 2 Listed races over 2000m, from 6 runs.  Also smart 4th in the G2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai (2200m) last May.  Never fired when 10th in the G2 Nikkei Shinshun Hai (2200m) at Chukyo in January.  Races from middle or better.  Tested only on firm.
