G1 – 1200m – Turf

Equilateral Has been in great shape since returning to Meydan, outpacing his rivals first in a handicap and then in a G2. The only worry is that those were over 1000m, his ideal trip. Still with chances here.
Extravagant Kid This speedster has been a real money spinner in the US, with a terrific win and place turf and dirt record. Second on all three 2021 starts, the last two on dirt. Not short of gate speed.
Khaadem A highly talented sprinter who finished a close fourth in G1’s at Ascot and Newmarket over this trip on his only two 2020 starts. Has proven that he can run big after an absence.
Man Of Promise On paper the weakest of Godolphin’s strong representation in this. Looked good when outspeeding his rivals in a Listed handicap here in February, much less good in a G3 this month.
Moss Gill His five career wins have come at around 1000m but earlier in his career saw very positive efforts over this trip. A close second on his only 2021 start, now having his first start outside the UK.
Motafaawit Disappointing last year but doing very much better in 2021, latterly when rushing from last place and only narrowly failing to win that G3 trial for this earlier in March.
Royal Crusade Lightly raced but came to Meydan with a reputation after a G3 Deauville win last July. Slowly away and also getting a bump but his G3 sixth here this month still counts as disappointing.
Space Blues The target for the others, as he has developed into a real G1
operator albeit mostly racing over further than 1200m. Again showed his class when powering past rivals in a valuable event in Riyadh last month.
Speak In Colours A seven times winner including at G3 and G2 level and at this trip. Very tough, he can take plenty of racing though has only been seen once this year, and should be sharper for that Dundalk second.
True Valour This US-trained candidate usually races over further but he did not look short of pace when third in a Listed over this trip at Aqueduct on his penultimate start. Joel Rosario rides him for the first time.
Final Song Has a good Meydan record and was especially sharp last time when winning the G3 trial for this earlier this month, having to race on her own for much of the trip and showing commitment at the end.
Acklam Express His three UK wins all came at around 1000m but he performed pretty well when third in the G3 trial for this over 1200m here this month. Stronger opposition won’t make life easy however.
Cowan A fast-finishing runner-up in a 1100m G2 turf sprint at Keeneland last November but running well on dirt surfaces since, latterly when an excellent second in Riyadh over 1600m. He’s versatile.
