G2 – 3200m – Turf
| Away He Goes | Up to this stamina-demanding trip for the first time. Likes to come late and a messy pace in a G3 here last time was not helpful. Consistent, but plenty of improvement needed. |
| For The Top | Ratings suggest that he may struggle. Has been beaten a long way in recent starts over much shorter distances than this. |
| Global Heat | Encouragingly, he posted a career best last time when a close second in a 2810m G3 here – not having an ideal trip but finishing strongly after looking outpaced. This 3200m may well help. |
| Mekong | Hasn’t won since 2018 but does have the stamina for this trip, and has run decently in some high-level stamina tests in the UK. |
| Red Verdon | Reaching the veteran stage but still capable of some big efforts as he showed when a closing fourth in a very valuable 3000m handicap in Saudi Arabia last time. |
| Royal Marine | Wasn’t beaten far in a G1 here last time, but is taking a huge hike up in distance and will need to settle better in the early stages than he sometimes does to have any chance of lasting. |
| Secret Advisor | Ratings give him a serious chance here and, though this is his first venture at 3200m, his strong-finishing third in a very valuable 3000m handicap in Saudi Arabia last time was very encouraging. |
| Spanish Mission | Has a potent mixture of speed and stamina, qualities he showed when winning a 3579m G2 at Doncaster. An excellent second in a very valuable handicap in Saudi Arabia last time was another advertisement. |
| Volcanic Sky | Although he only just held on, his victory in a G3 here last month suggests that he remains in good heart. A winner over this longer trip in the past, and the Meydan turf seems to suit him. |
| Walderbe | Has competed at a high level in Germany, France and Italy and led most of the way when winning a heavy-ground G2 at San Siro last October. His Meydan debut here plus he steps up in trip. |
| Subjectivist | First start of 2021 but he ended 2020 on a high with a career-best win at Longchamp, leading throughout for a heavy-ground G1 win. A danger to all if he enjoys Meydan and is 100% fit. |
