Singapore Gold Cup Day and Mile Championship to be beamed live for betting

14/11/2020 14:54

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast the Singapore Gold Cup Day meeting to be held at Kranji Racecourse on Saturday, 21 November and the Mile Championship from Hanshin Racecourse on Sunday, 22 November.

Singapore Gold Cup Day (9 races – 1st race starts 1:00pm, 21 November Sat)

The Singapore racing season reaches a thrilling climax with the running of the time-honoured SIN G1 Singapore Gold Cup (2000m for 3yo+, 3rd leg of the Singapore Triple Crown Series). Unlike the Raffles Cup (1st leg) and the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2nd leg), which are run under weight-for-age conditions, the Singapore Gold Cup is a handicap based on a compressed scale of two points per pound to encourage participation of horses lower on the rating scale.

Nine races of the Singapore Gold Cup Day will be simulcast for betting, the details of which will be announced later in the week. Final declarations with barrier draws will be available on the morning of Friday, 20 November.

Mile Championship  (2:40pm, 22 November Sun)

The leading milers in Japan will turn out for the Mile Championship (G1 1600M for 3yo+) to be simulcast during the Sha Tin races on 22 November.

The outstanding filly Gran Alegria will be looking to complete the famous G1 mile double having won the Yasuda Kinen in June, beating the nation’s superstar mare Almond Eye. She will be challenged by other top milers such as the defending champion Indy Champ, high class three-year-old Salios and 2019 G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile winner Admire Mars.

Final declarations with barrier draws for Mile Championship will be available on the afternoon of Friday, 20 November.
