The Hong Kong Jockey Club bought two athletic two-year-old colts for a total of NZ$500,000 at the recent New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale.

Both horses caught the eyes of the Club’s sales team when striding out at the breeze before also looking the part in the auction ring.

Lot 77, knocked down for NZ$250,000, is an athletic son of the G1-winning miler Charm Spirit, hailing from a family that has produced high-class sprinter/milers. The bay is out of a half-sister to the two-time G2 winner and multiple G1-placed Kiwi galloper Lady Kipling.

Baroness Gabriella is an unraced half-sister to the four-time G1 winner Volkstok‘N’Barrell and the Club secured her son, Lot 372, for NZ$250,000. The bay, half-brother to a seven-time winner, is by Australia’s leading first-season sire Zoustar.
