G1 – 1600m – Turf

Just Sensual This four-year-old filly has been restricted to sprints since she came back from a five-month layoff but did win the 2016 G1 Cape Fillies Guineas so the distance is of no concern. Should be peaking and gets Anton Marcus in the irons.
Gimme Six Winner of the G2 KZN Fillies Guineas at Greyville last year, her form ties in with Just Sensual. She ran poorly in the G1 Paddock Stakes last time but did not recover after suffering interference at the 700m and finished down the field. Ignore that run.
Silvan Star Has some decent form and rarely finishes far behind the winner. However, she is better suited over 2000m.
Star Express Caused a surprise when winning the G3 Victress Stakes (1800m) in her penultimate start but weakened badly when unplaced in the G1 Paddock Stakes last time when rushed early to overcome a wide draw.
Goodtime Gal Has similar form to Silvan Star and Star Express and also ran badly in the G1 Paddock Stakes last time off a wide draw. Beat Gimme Six in the G3 Diana Stakes over 1400m at Durbanville, but did have a fitness advantage.
Premier Dance Has been a consistent runner in weaker company and did finish second behind Star Express in the G3 Victress Stakes but that form has not held up.
Captain’s Flame Scratched
Louisiana This five-year-old mare is a five-time winner but may find this trip a touch short these days. She has formlines through a number of these, but has something to find.
Final Judgement Was a top juvenile and has run well in other features against fillies but she has yet to win beyond 1400m, despite a number of attempts. Disappointed in a moderate feature race in Port Elizabeth last time.
Beataboutthebush She has consistent form in Port Elizabeth, which is a weaker centre than Cape Town. The step up in class is against her here.
Seattle Gold This is another filly who has been running against the likes of Silvan Star, Star Express and Goodtime Gal. Looks up against it on exposed form.
Snowdance This three-year-old filly is the new South African sensation. She won both the G2 Western Cape Fillies (1400m) and the G1 Fillies Guineas in spectacular style, beating Oh Susanna by 3.25L in the Guineas. The runner-up came out to win the G1 Paddock Stakes by 1.5L, beating many of the runners in this race.
Rose In Bloom Consistent filly who has been well beaten by Snowdance in recent months. Steps out to 1600m again.
Rockin Russian She was a top juvenile who was placed in G1 and G2 features during the winter. Has been inconsistent since but was well beaten by Snowdance in the G1 Fillies Guineas although she did have the widest of draws.
