G1 – 2392m – Turf

Alyssa Has won at this track over further, and her last seven starts have been over further than this. Back to winning form in a soft ground Doncaster G2 last time, leading and rallying bravely when headed. Fresh from a light campaign, she’s been supplemented for this.
Bateel Last of 13 in this in 2016 for another stable, but she arrives here in great form having won a G3, G2 and G1 on her last three starts. Most recently she was impressive at Chantilly, coming from midfield and asserting late on. Soft ground is ideal for her.
Journey Racing prominently, she stormed clear for an impressive 4 lengths verdict in this (good ground) last year. In the latest of three 2017 starts she ran second to Bateel in a G1 at Chantilly, not looking quite as happy on the soft ground as the winner. This is her time of year.
Left Hand Has won three of her 14 starts including a G1 over 2400m at Chantilly in September 2016. She’s struggled to achieve similar since but only beaten a length in fifth behind Rhododendron in a 2000m soft ground Chantilly G1 last time. Quicker ground may help.
The Black Princess Has led but seems better held up, tactics that saw her win a G2 over a similar distance to this on fast ground at Haydock in July. She handles slow ground also but has been a bit disappointing in two G1’s run on soft ground at Chantilly on her last two starts.
The Juliet Rose Gained her fifth career win when leading nearly all the way over 2400m (soft) in a G2 at Chantilly last month. She doesn’t have to lead but prospects of a slow pace led to those tactics. That was just her second 2017 start and she is reported fresh and well.
Coronet Gained a course and distance victory here in a G2 at Royal Ascot in June, finishing well in the straight. The ground was fast then but she can handle slower conditions and only Arc winner Enable finished in front of her in a G1 at York two starts back. A strong stayer.
Horseplay Highly regarded by her trainer who has had a great season, but she has had an interrupted campaign. She won a fast ground Newmarket Listed race early in the season and has finished respectable fourths in a G1 over 2405m and a G2 over 2400m since. Not seen since July.
Hydrangea A really tough filly who gained a surprise G1 success over 1600m at Leopardstown (good) in September, racing very prominently as she likes to do. Again really brave at the finish when only just held by stablemate Rhododendron in a Chantilly G1 (soft) over 2000m last time. Moves up from that familiar 2000m to this more testing 2392m.
Wild Irish Rose A well-bred and tough filly though she doesn’t like to be touched with the whip. She won a handicap and Listed race earlier in the season but needs to upgrade on recent efforts on this first G1 effort. She’s usually held up.
