Victoria Derby Day and Melbourne Cup Day races to be beamed live for betting

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting two featured race meetings of the Victoria Spring Racing Carnival, namely the Victoria Derby Day on 4 November and the Melbourne Cup Day on 7 November at Flemington Racecourse in Australia.

Victoria Derby Day – 4 November 2017 (Sat) – 1st race 10:40am

The showcase race of the day, the G1 Victoria Derby, has been run since 1855 and is the oldest Classic in Australia. Carrying a prize of A$1.5 million, the Victoria Derby is the ultimate spring target for the Classic generation.

Subject to changes, the six races to be simulcast are:

Lexus Stakes (Hotham Handicap) – G3 2500m handicap 
Coolmore Stud Stakes (Ascot Vale Stakes) – G1 1200m for 3yo
Myer Classic (Empire Rose Stakes) – G1 1600m for 3yo+ f&m
Victoria Derby – G1 2500m for 3yo
Kennedy Mile (Cantala Stakes) – G1 1600m handicap
TAB.com.au Stakes (Linlithgow Stakes) – G2 1200m handicap

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Victoria Derby Day races will be available on the morning of Friday, 3 November.

Melbourne Cup Day – 7 November 2017 (Tue) – 1st race 10:25am

The A$6,000,000 Melbourne Cup is not only the richest handicap in the world but also one of the most anticipated events of the Australian racing and social calendar. At 3pm on the first Tuesday in November, Australia comes to a standstill as people tune in to catch the race that literally stops a nation. In a little more than 3 minutes, Cup dreams are made for some but shattered for others.

Lexus Hybrid Plate (Desirable Stakes) – Listed 1400m for 3yo fillies
Melbourne Cup – G1 3200m 3yo+ handicap
James Boag’s Premium Stakes. (Melbourne Cup Day Plate) – Listed 1800m
MSS Security Sprint (Always Welcome Stakes) – Listed 1200m
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (Maybe Mahal Stakes) – G3 1400m for 4yo+ mares

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Melbourne Cup Day races will be available on the morning of Monday, 6 November.
