1465m – Turf
1 |
Bopedro |
Third in this back in 2021 when Irish trained. Gained the eighth victory of his career on his latest start when comfortably winning a 1600m Newmarket handicap. Good or fast ground suit. |
2 |
Carrytheone |
Hasn’t won for almost two years and well beaten on his latest start. Hard to fancy off this handicap mark especially if the ground is not soft. |
3 |
Mutasarref |
Had a good winning spree last summer, landing three consecutive 1400m races. Struggling to recapture that form but his third here last month was quite an encouraging performance. |
4 |
Dunum |
Competing off a career-high handicap mark after some strong performances, notably victory in a prestigious 1400m handicap at Galway last month. Uncomplicated and there could be more to come. |
5 |
Hodd’s Girl |
Has started at long odds in Listed class races on her last three starts, doing best when quite a close third at Chelmsford. On turf her modest record is one win from 17 starts. |
6 |
I Am Superman |
Won decent prizes over this sort of trip when trained in Australia. Some quite good efforts at Meydan earlier this year but handicap mark sliding downwards after some modest subsequent runs. |
7 |
Hotrocket |
Won 1400m handicaps at Gowran Park and Fairyhouse earlier in the season. Then disappointed in a valuable handicap at Galway though he did meet with interference then. |
8 |
Rhoscolyn |
Very smart on his day and has twice battled on too strongly for his rivals in Goodwood handicaps on his last three starts. Fifth in this last year, but an easier task at the weights now. |
9 |
Darkness |
Doesn’t win very often but would have prospects here if in the same shape as when landing a 1600m Newmarket handicap in July despite racing too keenly early on. Handles slow and fast ground. |
10 |
Current Option |
Despite being bumped at the start and racing too keenly he won this prestigious handicap back in 2019, and, racing prominently, was third in it last year. Struggling lately but a return here may help. |
11 |
Ransom |
Well beaten on his only start at this track but it was over a much longer trip. Good efforts – including a win – over 1600m at Dundalk early this year. But turf record is 0-11. |
12 |
Broadhurst |
A lightly-raced colt who is yet to win on turf, but he only just failed to land a 1600m Naas handicap on his last start – back in May – so that is not an issue. Interesting, if properly fit after the absence. |
13 |
Gypsy Woman |
A lightly raced filly who has won two of her last three starts, latterly showing much improved form from a previously modest display to win a 1400m Cork handicap, given an aggressive ride. |
14 |
Urban Sprawl |
Having his first start outside the UK but saddled by Charlie Johnston who won this last year. Ran a terrific third in a red-hot Royal Ascot handicap, and back in decent shape when fourth at Goodwood last month. |
15 |
No More Porter |
Hasn’t won for over two years but is quite consistent in his efforts with some good placed runs though that means that his handicap mark remains challenging. Best on slow ground. |
16 |
Kayhana |
Hasn’t won since her career debut win last year but gave the impression that she was on the upgrade when a close third in a 1600m handicap at The Curragh last month. |
17 |
Cordouan |
Finished second in an 1800m handicap here in July and probable excuses at Galway next time when getting upset in the stalls. Not a major factor at The Curragh last time. |
18 |
Ice Cold In Alex |
A six-time winning veteran, though without a success so far this year. Has course and distance winning form here, and the faster the ground the better his chance. |
