G3 – 1409m – Turf
1 |
Agincourt |
From an in-form stable though this is the bare minimum trip for Agincourt. She did go very close to winning a 1600m Listed race here in May. |
2 |
Bounce The Blues |
Good efforts on all 2021 starts and she really should have won a 1400m soft ground G3 at Lingfield, continually denied a clear run, but still a close second. |
3 |
Helvezia |
Will need to upgrade from a modest 2021 return. But some solid slow-ground performances last season – including at Listed level – offers hope. |
4 |
Highfield Princess |
Knows how to win and victorious in three of her last four starts including a dominant defeat of 27 rivals in a Royal Ascot handicap. A first group run for this 1400m specialist. |
5 |
Jouska |
Went close to winning a Listed event at Musselburgh despite not handling the bend, and then – racing too keenly – she failed to stay 1600m last time. |
6 |
Last Empire |
Has won at Listed level and again ran well in that grade on her penultimate start. Excuses last time but unproven at 1400m. |
7 |
Lavender’s Blue |
Dropping back to this specialist trip for the first time, a bit of a worry. Not disgraced in G2 and G1 company on her last two starts. Doesn’t want slow ground. |
8 |
Onassis |
Has the ability to quicken from the back on slow ground as she did when winning a Listed race over this course and distance. Also an encouraging effort last time. |
9 |
Valeria Messalina |
Headed in the last stride when second in this last year, a career-best performance on her only previous Goodwood run. Slower ground this time but chances nonetheless. |
10 |
Sacred |
Her trainer thought she was a pure sprinter but she surprised him with a comfortable G3 victory over this trip at Newmarket in April. Then failed to last 1600m in a G1. |
11 |
Dandalla |
High class at two, winning a 1200m G3 and G2 but so far has not been nearly so effective this year. With something to prove. |
12 |
Isabella Giles |
The fact that she surged clear to win a soft-ground G3 over this course and distance last August is encouraging. Has run better than the bare facts appear in 2021. |
13 |
Lullaby Moon |
Concluded a very good first season with a decisive 1400m heavy ground G3 win at Chantilly. Hasn’t recaptured that form in two 2021 runs. |
14 |
Meu Amor |
Handles this trip and a variety of surfaces. And her comfortable win of a 1400m Carlisle Listed race last time was a career best run. |
15 |
Passionova |
Up significantly in grade but she’s clearly a smart filly having returned from a minor leg operation to win over this trip on fast ground at Newmarket. |
16 |
Star Of Emaraaty |
Has won at this G3 level and over this trip – at Newmarket – when a shock winner. A return to form was suggested on her last start. Quick ground ideal. |
17 |
Vadream |
Briefly looked like beating higher rated rivals in a 1400m soft-ground G3 at Royal Ascot. On that evidence this distance looks ideal. |
