G1 – 2500m – Turf

1 Babbitt Took fourth straight win in the 2200m G2 St. Lite Kinen in September but 3000m might have been too long for him when 10th in the G1 Kikuka Sho latest. Usually leads or sits handily. Has run on firm and good.
2 Blast Onepiece Winner of this race in 2018. Also a multiple graded race winner who won his seasonal bow in the G2 American Jockey Club Cup (2200m) in January, but finished below par in 3 recent runs. Takeshi Yokoyama has been booked to ride him for the first time. Hold-up horse. Has won on firm and good.
3 Crescendo Love Two-time G3 winner over 2000m at Fukushima. Finished 4th in the G2 All Comers (2200m) in September but well beaten in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m) latest. Generally hold-up runner. No ground worries.
4 Loves Only You Last year’s unbeaten G1 Yushun Himba (2400m) winner. Has yet to win in 4 starts this term but seems to return to her form when 3rd behind Lucky Lilac for the second consecutive year in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) latest. Hold-up horse. No ground issues.
5 World Premiere High class 4yo who claimed the G1 Kikuka Sho (3000m) last term and closed the season with a decent 3rd to Horse of the Year Lys Gracieux in this race. Returned from 11-month break and made some late ground for 6th in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m). Strong closer. All runs on firm and good.
6 Kiseki Has not tasted any success since taking the 2017 G1 Kikuka Sho (3000m), but ran 2nd to Almond Eye in the 2018 Japan Cup. Still showed his consistency as a 6yo this term with a 2nd for the second successive year in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen (2200m) in June. Races handy or on speed. Ground-wise runner.
7 Lucky Lilac JRA Champion 2yo filly in 2017. Failed to conquer Almond Eye at three but showed her best form this term with 2 G1 wins. First taking the G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) in April before successfully defending her crown in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) last out. Generally Races close to speed. Best on firm.
8 Persian Knight Has not tasted any success since taking the 2017 G1 Mile Championship (1600m). Rounded off his 2018 and 2019 campaigns with a 5th to Beauty Generation and Admire Mars in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin. On an upward curve this term with placed efforts behind Normcore in the G2 Sapporo Kinen (2000m) in August. Ran flat when 7th in the G1 Mile Championship latest. Settles back. Best on firm.
9 Chrono Genesis Topped racing fans’ vote of this race. Deserved win in G1 Takarazuka Kinen (2200m) by 6L in June. Decent 3rd to Almond Eye in G1 Tenno Sho Autumn (2000m) in first run from four-month off last out. Settles midfield or better. No track issues.
10 Curren Bouquetd’or Very potent 4yo filly with 2 wins and 6 seconds from 12 runs, including 0.75L 2nd to Suave Richard and 1.5L 4th to Almond Eye in last two runnings of the G1 Japan Cup (2400m). Settles midfield or better. No track worries.
11 Mozu Bello Four-time winner between 1800m and 2400m in 14 runs. 3rd to Chrono Genesis in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen (2200m) in June last out. Winds up from deep. Goes on all ground.
12 Authority Highly talented 3yo colt finished on board in all 6 starts, with 4 wins from 1800m to 2500m. Returned with good form from 6-month break and overcame the widest draw to win G2 Copa Republica Argentina (2500m) last out. Races forward. Handles firm and soft going.
13 Fierement One of the most consistent stayers on the Japanese circuit with 3 G1 wins from 11 outings. Winner of the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m) in 2019 and 2020. Returned from a six-month break for a creditable 2nd to Almond Eye in the G1 Tenno Sho Autumn (2000m) latest. Settles back for a late run. Best on firm.
14 Salacia On an upward curve in the 3 recent runs, including a first graded race win in the G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes (1800m) in October, before a well-deserved neck 2nd to Lucky Lilac in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2200m) latest. Tactically versatile. Handles soft going but better on firm.
15 Ocea Great 5 wins between 2200m and 3600m from 16 runs. Won the 2200m 3-win class in January and another smart effort for 3rd in the G3 Diamond Stakes, stretching out to 3400m, in February. Below par in two runs in July and November but scored his first graded race success in the marathon G2 Stayers Stakes (3600m) last out. Races midfield or close to speed. No going issues.
16 You Can Smile Highly-talented galloper with three graded race wins over 2000m to 3400m. Best G1 effort to date a 3rd behind Fierement in the 2018 Kikuka Sho (3000m). Finished below par for the first time in 18 runs when 12th in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m) last out. Strong closer. All wins came from firm track.
