| 1 | Afalonhro | Hasn’t had much luck in his past two runs but was an eye-catching winner over 1400m three starts ago. Can certainly be in the finish with better luck in running. |
| 2 | Glasgow | Looked unsuited when resuming over 1800m 21 days ago and also raced wide in that event. Better chance back in distance here and has to be respected against Class 4 company. |
| 3 | Leatherhead | Won impressively two starts ago over this distance on the Polytrack but had vet excuses last start when weakening into 11th. Has been freshened and should be given another chance. |
| 4 | McGregor | Old-timer who is never far away in the finish and still seems to be racing with zest. Checked home a nice 3rd two starts ago and a win wouldn’t shock. Drawn ideally in barrier 1. |
| 5 | Foresto | Has been a noticeable drifter in the betting in his past 5 runs. He’s certainly capable on his day. Each-way claims. |
| 6 | Basilisk | Yet to win over the mile but has placed once from 3 tries. Improvement seems necessary to win this race. |
| 7 | Atlas | Lightly-raced 4YO who has shown good ability in 7 career starts for 2 wins and a second. Unknown at the trip but ate up the ground over 1400m last time and looks a winning chance. |
| 8 | Hard Too Think | Heavily supported last start but had no luck when copping a nasty check at the 150m and weakening into 10th. Can improve here and have to consider again as an unexposed type with more to come. |

Lightly-raced 4YO who had no luck as favourite two starts ago but bounced back last start for a promising win. Sees Handicap company for the first time and could find this tougher. |
| 11 | Royal Pavilion | Looks a query at the distance, with all 3 career wins occurring over sprint trips. However, he has to be respected coming from the leading stable. |
| 12 | Tiger Force | Performs better on the Polytrack as his turf record of nine starts for nothings suggests. Not suited here. |
| 13 | Helushka | Has shown little recently and looks better suited in Class 5 company. Hard to recommend. |
| 14 | Legend Rocks | Has a poor turf record and appears to need something easier than this. Others are preferred. |
