The Stewards have interviewed Mr J Size, the trainer of SCORES OF FUN, regarding his application to add a tongue tie to the gear to be worn by that horse in the stated race. SCORES OF FUN was successful at its only race start on 24 May 2020 when not wearing a tongue tie.
Mr Size explained that after sending SCORES OF FUN to Conghua following its last start success, the horse had been diagnosed with an epiglottic issue. He therefore added a tongue tie to the horse in its work in an endeavour to correct this situation. He said SCORES OF FUN had worked well with the tongue tie applied and therefore he again applied a tongue tie to SCORES OF FUN when it barrier trialed at Sha Tin on 11 September 2020. He said the horse, which was ridden by Jockey J Moreira, had trialed well and he believed that, having regard to the stated veterinary issue, SCORES OF FUN would benefit by wearing a tongue tie in its future race starts.
J Moreira confirmed that SCORES OF RUN had trialed well with the tongue tie applied when ridden by him.
Having considered the merits of Mr Size’s application, the Stewards have approved for SCORES OF FUN to wear a tongue tie in this race.
