The “Lucky Start January 1 Raceday” at Sha Tin Racecourse offers racegoers a chance to get 2020 off to a galloping start with thrilling races and spectacular on-course activities.

Mega prize of $68 million for “Lucky Start Jan 1”

A mega prize of $68 million will be on offer to celebrate the New Year.  On the Lucky Start January 1 Raceday, the Triple Trio is estimated to reach $16 million for a single $10 winning unit with a top-up from the Triple Trio Jackpot Reserve. The Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool for Races 6 and 10 will be allocated a jackpot of $1 million each.  In addition, the Mark Six New Year Snowball Draw will be held on 2 January, with the First Division Prize Fund estimated to reach $50 million.

Racegoers can experience the thrills of racing at Sha Tin Racecourse and take photos at popular attractions such as the Silent Witness horse statue, the Parade Ring and the trackside Public Forecourt. New range of merchandise for 2020

A brand new range of Lucky Ticket merchandise will be launched on 1 January at Sha Tin Racecourse. All merchandise items will be available at designated sales counters and Gift at Races souvenir shops at Sha Tin Racecourse. Customers can also make purchase from the online shop www.giftatraces.com.

New Year Day specialty dishes at Mezza One

To mark the Lucky Start Raceday on 1 January, three confectionary items will be available at Mezza One, they are: Oatmeal and Raisin Cookie ($20), Passion Fruit Meringue Tart ($35) and Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake ($35).

On the track, the day’s highlight will be the first Group race for 2020, the Group 3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup Handicap (1400m), to be run on turf as Race 7.  The first race will be run at 12:15pm on Wednesday, 1 January. Sha Tin Racecourse will open for admission at 10:15 am.
