The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased three attractive colts at the recent New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sale for a total cost of NZ$795,000 (approximately HK$4.181 million).
Lot 15 was bought for NZ$220,000. The Ocean Park youngster is a half-brother to New Zealand’s Champion three-year-old and dual G1 winner Savvy Coup.
The auctioneer’s hammer fell at the Jockey Club’s bid of NZ$375,000 for Lot 573, an athletic Sebring colt. The chestnut is out of the six-time winner Are There Any, being from a good black type family.
Lot 678, secured for NZ$200,000 is from the first crop of Kermadec, winner of the G1 George Main Stakes and G1 Doncaster Handicap. The colt’s dam, a three-time winner, is a winner-producing full-sister to G1-placed Coup Align.
