The Club will present the “Mark Six 50th Anniversary Exhibition” from 1 May to 10 May.

The Mark Six, launched in 1976, has supported numerous social welfare organisations through lottery duty and contributions to the Lotteries Fund. At the same time, it has embodied the hopes and dreams of Hong Kong people over half a century. To mark its 50th anniversary of the launch of Mark Six, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) today (21 April) announced a series of activities to commemorate five decades of serving the community alongside Hong Kong people. These activities are also part of the Club’s Year of the Horse Campaign.

The Club will first present the “Mark Six 50th Anniversary Exhibition” at Duplex Studio, Tai Kwun in Central from 1 May to 10 May. Open from 11am to 7pm daily and under the theme “Connecting Dreams for a Better Future”, the exhibition will showcase precious Mark Six artefacts, including some of the earliest lottery tickets. Visitors will be able to explore how the Mark Six has helped generations of Hong Kong people in pursuing their dreams, while fulfilling its social responsibility. The exhibition will also feature a simulated draw studio, where visitors can take instant photos with a retired drawing machine.

To celebrate this golden jubilee, the Club will also launch two special 50th Anniversary Snowball* draws. The first 50th Anniversary Snowball draw# will be held on 2 May, with an estimated First Division Prize Fund of HK$228 million^ – the highest in Mark Six history. Details of the second draw will be announced later.

Other key celebratory highlights include:

    • The fourth-generation drawing machine, which has witnessed Mark Six draws over the past 16 years, will be retired after the first 50th Anniversary Snowball draw. Thereafter, draws will be conducted using a brand-new fifth-generation drawing machine, adhering to the highest regulatory standards to ensure a fair and transparent draw process.
    • Mark Six 50th Anniversary commemorative merchandise will first be available at the “Mark Six 50th Anniversary Exhibition” at Tai Kwun, while stocks last. Selected items are exclusive to the exhibition, while the remainder will subsequently be available at “Gift at Races” counters at designated Off-Course Betting Branches, as well as at “Gift at Races” stores and its online shop from 17 May.
    • A dedicated campaign website is launched to echo the exhibition, offering the public insights into the Mark Six’s key milestones, its major contributions to society, fascinating fun facts, and a chance to revisit its remarkable 50-year journey with Hong Kong.

The Club’s Year of the Horse campaign is a year-long celebration of the close bond between horses and humans and the contribution racing makes to Hong Kong. It also promotes tourism as well as equine and sports development. Racing is not only the city’s favourite pastime, but also a symbol of its “can-do” spirit and stability under One Country, Two Systems. Through the success of Hong Kong horses on the international stage, the sport also brings pride to the community and global recognition to our city. None of this would be possible without the horse.
