Pre-declaration veterinary inspections were conducted this morning 23 April 2026 of VOYAGE BUBBLE, which was found to have developed a capped elbow in its left front leg and SUNLIGHT POWER, which was found to have developed a capped elbow in its right front leg.

The Head of Veterinary Regulation, Welfare & Biosecurity Policy, Dr B Forbes, has reported that both conditions have shown improvement and permission has been given for the horses to be declared to race in the FWD Champions Mile.  Dr Forbes advised that a further pre-race veterinary inspection will be required on Saturday 25 April 2026, to assess both horses’ suitability to start.

Trainer P F Yiu agreed that both horses have shown improvement under veterinary management.  He said VOYAGE BUBBLE pleased him in a gallop this morning when ridden by Jockey C L Chau and SUNLIGHT POWER is scheduled to have its final gallop tomorrow morning 24 April 2026 and is to be ridden by Jockey E Brown.
