An easy 1200m Kempton winner last October, clearly on a good mark then for his first handicap. Reappeared here last month on a much stiffer mark, running a fair race.

He has continued to improve and surely his narrow defeat over this trip at Newbury last month was his best performance so far. A 2lb tougher handicap mark is unlikely to be a big issue.

Royal Zabeel

An easy 1200m maiden winner on his second start as a 2yo. Finished eighth of nine on the soft ground when tried in Listed company on his final 2023 start.

Quatre Bras

An all-weather winner over this trip as a 2yo, but well beaten in two Listed contests since including here last month. Handicapping should give him more opportunities.

Key To Cotai

Only just beaten in a handicap over this course and distance last September. Likely to be helped by a return to a turf surface and this trip after her second at Wolverhampton last month.

Betties Bay

A 1200m Newbury maiden winner last July. Ran a good third – at long odds – at Kempton on her 2024 return but not so well when up to this trip and in Listed company subsequently.

Purefoy

Last year’s gelding operation seemed to help as he ran easily his best race when a convincing front-running winner over 1401m at Lingfield last month. More progress is very possible.

Pitney

An interesting contender if he handles this first venture on turf and first run since comfortably beating nine rivals over a similar trip to this at Wolverhampton last November.

Love Billy Boy

One win from six starts last season and didn’t run badly when eighth of 17 here on his 2024 return. Now tackling 1400m.

Run Boy Run

He narrowly won a Newcastle maiden in March and then was a fair seventh here, though not looking an easy ride – hanging both left and right.

Rockstar Icon

Showed encouragement last year and proven at around this trip, strong at the end when scoring at Lingfield last December. Handicap and seasonal debut.

Pressure’s On

An all-weather winner over this trip on his final 2yo start, and last month was finishing strongly in a handicap when second here. Wouldn’t need to improve much to have a serious chance.

Jungle Mac

Won an all-weather maiden on his first start since being gelded, and then led for most of the trip when third in a 1200m handicap at Kempton. Up to 1400m. Stable in winning form.

Kodiac Thriller

Having his first start since December, on that day he proved himself at this trip with a front-running victory in a novices’ event at Lingfield.

Pedro Valentino

Gelded since his two starts last year, winning a Wolverhampton maiden on the second of those. Briefly threatened to win a Lingfield handicap over 1401m last month, just tiring late on.

Harry Did

Not beaten far on any of his three career starts, and only failed by a head to win at Kempton last month on his first start of 2024. Handicapping now.

Indivar

A fast-ground Redcar handicap winner on his final 2023 start. Up to this trip at Newmarket last month he was sluggish early on but got into his stride nicely to finish third of nine.

Sugarloaf Lenny

Beaten a long way in his first two starts, but sharp improvement came after he was gelded and – despite a tricky gate - he led throughout to win a handicap at Lingfield last November.

Romanee

Neither of his two starts this season have been especially encouraging and he was subsequent gelded. Will need to improve much to have a chance.

Mister Mojito

Has been running well at a modest level and was an impressive fast-ground winner of a handicap over 1403m at Yarmouth last month.
