G3 – 1200m – Dirt

1

Bold Journey

Attempts this big prize after winning his last three starts in the US, all on dirt at this trip and including a G3. Usually a late closer, and his stable won this last year. Chance.

2

Bakeel

Withdrawn

3

Cairama

Very effective over this trip on dirt in the US. Looks to have adapted well since moving to Saudi Arabia, with a victory this year. This is a bigger task.

4

Jasper Krone

Plenty of turf success at this trip in Japan. Didn’t appear to handle the sharp track in a G1 at Santa Anita and then led for some of the way in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint.

5

Keiai Dorie

Has a high win and place strike-rate in Japan and put a couple of less good performances behind him when finishing strongly into second in a JPN G3 in December.

6

Power Of Beauty

Some success here last year, and pretty well led from start to finish over 1400m here in December. His late speed will help, but he still looks best over further than this.

7

Rebellious Stage

From a highly successful local stable this former US-trained colt has adapted very well to local conditions, especially impressive when thrashing his rivals over 1400m here in December.

8

Remake

Looks a strong candidate from Japan. Capable of some exciting surges from way off the pace and rarely underperforms. Has had a break since a fast-finishing second last time.

9

Skelly

A star around tracks in central US and has won his last seven starts. If these different conditions suit then he must have chances in a race that a US-trained horse won last year.

10

Tuz

Mostly competes on the dirt at Meydan where he can boast some terrific performances, including when leading for most of the way in a G3 last month, winning by an 8.5l margin.

11

Alfaisaleyah

Strong at the finish each time when winning three consecutive races – two at this trip – late last year. Not as good in a more valuable event in January. May struggle.

12

Sunset Flash

Reaching the veteran stage now but still very capable of beating local opposition here, including two victories last October. Prepped for this when solid second here last month but this is much tougher.
