A winner over this trip on his 2023 return and drops back to 1600m after failing to shine – albeit in hot company – since then.

Finn’s Charm

Mixed fortunes this season since he won a Musselburgh handicap over this trip on his 2023 return. Returned to form after a couple of poor efforts when fourth at Newmarket recently.

Enfjaar

Won on his first two starts – including at Newmarket. Fancied for a Royal Ascot G3 subsequently but was in trouble a long way from the end. Returns after a two-month break into this handicap.

Silver Sword

Has won two of his four 2023 starts latterly in a handicap over this trip on fast ground at Pontefract. Rain-soaked ground may have been the cause of a less good subsequent effort.

Strong at the finish when landing a fast-ground novices’ event over this trip at Thirsk. His third at Newmarket subsequently represented even stronger form. Handicap debut now.

Proved that he could handle this trip when winning a Yarmouth handicap over 1603m in June. Ran well at Newmarket subsequently considering he met with trouble in that race.

Glenfinnan

Ran really well when only just failing to land a 33-1 success in a 1400m maiden here last year. Led but could not maintain the momentum on soft ground at Goodwood this month.

Catch The Paddy

Some good efforts at this track but all over shorter distances than this. Had a poor trip at Haydock on his latest start.

Had 11 rivals behind him when winning over this course and distance on his career debut last year. Hasn’t progressed significantly from that in two 2023 runs but not disgraced either.

Bajan Bandit

Has won two of his four starts this season latterly with a clear career best in a 1400m handicap here in July. Off a 7lb higher mark now but could still be improving. Best on good or fast ground.

Power Of Gold

Has ruined his chance by getting worked up before a race, but no problems prior to his victory in a handicap over this trip at Doncaster. First run at York but the track should suit.
