G2 – 1200m – Turf

1

Jasour

This upwardly mobile colt took his form to a new level when swooping from the back to win a 1200m Newmarket G2 last month. Ground likely to be slower this time, but he looks very speedy indeed.

2

Asadna

Very impressive on his debut when thrashing rivals in a quick time. Probably excuses when disappointing in a G2 at Royal Ascot, then running a respectable third when favourite at Newbury. Improvement needed.

3

Ballymount Boy

Only beaten by inexperience on his debut and looked much more professional next time when beating three rivals in a Hamilton maiden. This represents a big rise in class.

4

Bobsleigh

Came from the back when winning his first two starts. Slowly away in much stronger company at Royal Ascot, he couldn’t make up enough ground – the same at Newbury last time.

5

Emperor’s Son

Despite being badly hampered at the start he still managed to win a novices’ event on his debut, with the second horse having won twice since. Didn’t make an impact in a G2 at Royal Ascot.

6

Hala Emaraaty

Narrowly won his first two starts but has been outspeeded in two stronger races since, latterly at Sandown where he looked as though the rise to this trip would be right approach.

7

Nazalan

Won a novices’ event at Sandown, then ran respectably when third – though well held in the closing stages – in Listed company at the same track. Up to 1200m now. Needs to improve to win this.

8

Sketch

Created a very good impression on his debut, racing enthusiastically and making most of the running to beat his nine rivals by 5l and upwards in that 1200m Newbury novices’ event last month.

9

Toca Madera

Justified favouritism with an impressive success at Bath on his second start, and, after a modest show at Royal Ascot, ran a solid third at big odds in a Newmarket G2. Races prominently.

10

Unquestionable

Led throughout in a maiden at Curragh, and only just held in a 1200m G2 at the same track last month. Good chance here on that evidence, especially granted a strong pace as he is bred for further.

11

Vandeek

A big-money purchase, he was made a short-price favourite for his debut, in a well-contested maiden Nottingham last month. Slowly away and clearly lacking experience, he still won impressively.

12

Watch My Tracer

The winner of two of his three starts and not beaten far in a G2 at Royal Ascot in between. Odds-on when outclassing 12 rivals over 1211m at Windsor last time.
