We probably haven’t seen the best of this winner of his first two starts. Has run respectable races in a G1 and G2 since without looking like winning in the closing stages. Stamina is his strong point.

Burdett Road

A winner of fast-ground 2000m handicaps on his last two starts, latterly when defying an 8lb rise in the weights at Ascot. Not yet proven at this trip or on slow ground.

Canberra Legend

Looked exciting when maintaining his unbeaten record in a Listed event at Newmarket, but though not improving on that in a G3 and G2 since, a return to slower ground and rise in trip may help.

Chesspiece

An improving winner of three of his five starts. Showed courage to fend off challengers when leading throughout in a Listed event at Hamilton. Soft ground would greatly add to his chance.

Desert Hero

Gained his third victory and delivered his best performance when weaving his way through horses to narrowly win a red-hot Royal Ascot handicap and to prove himself at this trip. Worth this rise in grade.

Espionage

Came close to a G1 victory on his third start, over 1600m on heavy ground at Saint-Cloud. Encouraging to see him gain a comfortable Listed success on his 2023 return, revealing stamina then.
