Listed – 1600m – Turf

1

Cosmic Vega

Has had a short break since a career-best performance when responding well, despite racing too keenly early, to win a 1400m Listed event at Naas. Good ground then but softer may be ideal.

2

Carrytheone

From a stable that have won this before and this three-times winner boasts two particularly good efforts this season, notably when third in a 1400m Leopardstown G3 despite a sluggish start.

3

Fernao

Very lightly raced but, though it was only a maiden he won last month, he romped to an 8L winning verdict, and the third home has won since. No surprise to see him upped to Listed class.

4

Pretreville

Twice a G3 winner – both at this trip – first at Chantilly and, last year, he made most of the running at Leopardstown. Probably just needed his first start for a year when third at Fairyhouse last month.

5

Beautiful Sunshine

Three career wins all came over shorter trips than this, and she is yet to convince over 1600m latterly when well held at Navan.

6

Didn’thavemuchtodo

Her two wins have come at a lower level but she has twice been placed in Listed class notably when a solid third – despite being squeezed for room to challenge – at Navan on her only 2023 run.

7

Hellsing

Without a run this year but showed lots of promise in 2022, winning two of his four starts including in Listed company at Tipperary prior to a fine second in the valuable Goffs Million over 1400m here.

8

Bold Discovery

Best effort this season came when second in a 1400m G3 at Leopardstown, handling the very testing ground there. But has made only limited impact in two starts since including in a G1 Classic here.

9

Lord Massusus

Has won four of his last five starts including the last two – at Gowran Park and then landing a Naas handicap convincingly despite a difficult trip. Well worth this first attempt at a Listed prize.

10

Narmar

Gained his first win on his fourth and latest start when landing a 1600m maiden at Listowel last month. Promising but much more to do here.

11

Salt Lake City

Couldn’t handle heavy ground and G1 company on his final 2022 start, but plenty of promise from his strong-finishing second in an 1800m Listed event at Leopardstown last month.

12

Tarawa

The form of her two starts this season give her a shout here and she enhanced her reputation – although losing her position at one point – when only beaten 3L in fourth in a G1 Irish Classic here.
