Club statement regarding a fraudulent SMS

11/05/2023 18:07

The Hong Kong Jockey Club would like to alert its customers and the public to a fraudulent SMS claiming that account permissions are restricted and requesting recipients to click on an attached link (hxxps://www[.]hkjjc[.]club) to reactivate biometric authentication.

The Club would like to clarify that it is in no way responsible for sending this fraudulent SMS or URL. If you receive suspicious text messages (SMS), please do not reply, click on the link or provide any information. The Club never sends any SMS or links requesting customers to reactivate the biometric authentication for their betting accounts.

To ensure that you do not fall victim to scams, the Club would like to provide the following advice:

  • Before responding to any suspicious emails, telephone calls, voice messages, emails, SMS or other forms of communication, please call our service hotline 1818 to verify the message or caller’s identity.
  • Ensure that you are connected to a valid website of the Club when accessing your betting account. The Club’s betting website domain is bet.hkjc.com.
  • Do not provide any sensitive personal information, betting account information and ESC passcode to suspicious third parties.

If you have any doubts or have disclosed your personal and betting account details, please change your betting account security code at HKJC Customer eCentre (cc.hkjc.com) immediately and contact the Club on 1818. You should also report the case to the police as soon as possible.
