DANON THE KID – JPN
Aguri and Danon the Kid- Takayuki Yasuda’s pair both arrived in Hong Kong on Thursday late evening. The assistant Keiichiro Yasuda confirmed that both horses walked for 60 minutes around the quarantine barn this morning.
“Both worked with a half-gallop for 800m respectively yesterday, so they just had a hand-walk this morning. Their appetites have come back to normal and both of them are getting used to the new surroundings here. I think they are in good form. They will work on the all-weather track tomorrow,” said Keiichiro Yasuda.
GERALDINA – JPN
Supervised by the frequent traveller of Northern Farm, Yasuhiro Matsumoto, the five-year-old daughter of Maurice stretched out her legs for one lap on the all-weather track, clocked 1m 03.4s (32.9, 30.5) before she went to the paddock ring for schooling.
“When she arrived in Hong Kong last week, she was a bit tired from the flight from Japan, which was her first experience. Her form is getting better day-by-day. She will work on the all-weather track tomorrow as well,” said assistant to trainer Takashi Saito, Masaru Danno.
PROGNOSIS – JPN
The G2 Kinko Sho winner over Sunday’s G1 FWD QEII Cup distance (2000m) at Chukyo racecourse in March had an easy piece of canter on the all-weather track before he schooled at the paddock ring.
“He travelled safely to Hong Kong. I think he is very fit and in good form at the moment. He is the only horse staying in his quarantine barn, as other three Japanese horses stay in a different barn, but he seems to enjoy his time alone. Tomorrow, Zac Purton will work him,” said groom Yoshihiko Yasui.
