G3 – 2409m – Turf
| Layfayette | Versatile in terms of trip and ground, and a good third in the stayers’ handicap at this meeting last year. Won three consecutive races earlier in 2022 including a G3 and G2 but not so good lately. |
| Beamish | Has only raced four times, but seems to be thriving. Won a slow ground Listed event, then a respectable third up in G3 level over this course and distance. |
| Earl Of Tyrone | Facts and figures suggest race by race progress in 2022, deserving a crack at this G3 after his close third in a red-hot York handicap last month. Stays very well. Races prominently. |
| Thunder Kiss | Three very good efforts, and one bad disappointment so far in 2022, and it was a good effort in her first G1 encounter, at The Curragh last time. Has had a break since. Tends to close late. |
| Bluegrass | Has only won a maiden but some very respectable performances at a group and listed level. Faded at the end last time but that came off an absence plus the 2800m may have been too far. |
| Duke De Sessa | Hasn’t so far justified the high expectations from his two-year-old career. Probably ran his best race of 2022 when second in a G3 in June, and this longer trip could help. |
| Point King | Unbeaten in three starts this season and especially impressive when winning a 2800m Listed event over this track last month, this big colt quickening well. |
| Kiss You Later | Has failed to supplement a maiden race win since tackling stronger company. Did make some late headway when third in a Cork G3 last month. |
| Perotan | Started her career late but won her first two starts, in July. Fourth in a G3 at Cork last month, returning minus a shoe. |
