The Hong Kong Jockey Club bought one eye-catching colt at the recent Goffs Premier Yearling Sale (23-24 August) in Doncaster, Great Britain for a total outlay of £200,000 (approx. HK$1,911,000).
Lot 57 is out of the Listed Stakes winning mare, Isole Canarie, while his sire, Acclamation, needs no introduction following the heroics of Romantic Warrior – a graduate of the 2021 Hong Kong International Sale – who dazzled last season with seven wins from eight starts and close to HK$40 million banked.
Currently, Romantic Warrior is rated 122 – Acclamation’s highest rated son in Hong Kong – and at last season’s Champion Awards he collected a trio of accolades as Champion Middle-Distance Horse, Champion Four-Year-Old and Most Improved Horse.
Among Acclamation’s other noted progeny in Hong Kong is Fearless Fire, a six-time winner in town, while the recently retired Loving A Boom earned 16 top-three finishes.
