29/06/2022 18:18

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is staging the 25th Anniversary Hong Kong Reunification Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse on 1 July (Friday) to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

Besides exciting track action including two feature races, the 25th Anniversary Hong Kong Reunification Cup (Race 7) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup (Race 6), a variety of on-course activities will also be held.

Interactive games to win prizes

An entertainment programme will kick off at 12:20pm in the Parade Ring as a prelude to the races with a medley of iconic Cantopop songs celebrating the Hong Kong spirit, performed by HKJC Music and Dance Fund Scholar Yuki Ip and HKJC Scholar Michelle Siu. Accompanying them will be a dance performance choreographed by HKJC Music and Dance Fund Scholar Ronny Wong.

Next on the agenda is the “Most Memorable Racing Moments over the past 25 Years” interactive game, which audiences on-course and at home can join by scanning a QR code on screen for a chance to win a prize. Meanwhile, videos receiving the most votes in the “Most Memorable Racing Moments over the past 25 Years” online poll will be shown between races, allowing racing fans to relive the greatest achievements of the Club’s world-class racing since the establishment of the HKSAR.

Exhibitions and VR tour of Conghua Racecourse

Also launching at the Raceday will be the “With You. Then. Now. Always.” Exhibition, highlighting progress made by the community in the past 25 years with the Club’s support. The exhibition will open to the public at Tai Kwun after the Raceday and then tour locations across the city. The Drago Cavallo art showcase by artist Simon Ma and students will also be launching on the day, which will thereafter embark on a positivity trail across Hong Kong exploring how the Club has grown together with the community.

Racegoers can also tour Conghua Racecourse, an important milestone in the Club’s racing development, through an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience. Meanwhile, special cuisines will be available at racecourse restaurants, boxes, MezzaOne and designated food counters.

The Triple Trio jackpot will be topped up to $16 million, with an estimated dividend of $25 million should there be only one single $10 winning unit.

“The 25th Anniversary Hong Kong Reunification Raceday” is an accredited event celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It is one of the key programmes of the Club’s “With You. Then. Now.
