Quite smart at around this trip and further but his two previous runs at this track have been modest.

Gained two handicap wins at this trip during a rewarding time in 2021. Led and not beaten far in a Sandown G2 in April.

Kept on strongly when beating 26 rivals in a prestigious course and distance handicap last time. A 5lb rise in the handicap looks fair.

Loves this track and is twice a course and distance winner, also running third of 27 here last time. Fast ground is a worry.

A past course and distance winner here – back in 2020 – and would look well handicapped if repeating that effort.

Winning form over this trip when trained in the UAE. A very encouraging third at Chester last time.

Won three straight handicaps back in 2020 but has had injury problems since. Handicap mark getting easier and this trip and fast ground ideal.

Ran badly over 1600m at this meeting last year, but did almost win a 1400m handicap here two starts later. Nicely handicapped.

From a shrewd Irish stable. But mostly disappointing lately and, looking to prefer slow ground, is not very fanciable.

Nothing special since joining this stable. And his two career wins came on soft ground which he won’t find here.

Has won all three starts and coped with slow ground better than his trainer feared at Goodwood last time. Probably even better on fast ground.

Ran his best race for some time when finishing fast to win at Hamilton this month. An outsider, but plenty of them have won this handicap.

Has struggled to recapture some outstanding form as a two-year-old. Never threatened here last time.

Won a 1200m Royal Ascot handicap two years ago, and a good fourth in that last year. Effective at 1400m also.

Although not shining last time, he has twice run really well at this track. He likes quick ground, and trainer says a big field and fast pace suit.

Mostly runs over further but has won at 1400m, plus the expected fierce pace will make this a stamina test. A good second on his first start for this stable last time.

Not beaten far in two Chester handicaps this season, most recently not helped by stumbling on the home bend. Often leads.

Finished well to win handicaps at around 1200m on his last two starts. An earlier run suggested he stays this trip.
