Ran a cracker over 1600m at this course when runner-up in stronger company and that effort makes him a definite contender for top honours.

Han Solo

Improved with addition of blinkers in his last two starts. Won a good race over course and distance last time. Good draw and top jockey puts him in the hunt.

Paper Trail

Flew up to run a three-length second behind Han Solo off a wide draw last time. Now 7lbs better off and an improved draw bring him right into the race with a big chance.

Alingalonga

A four-time winner from 14 starts, but he comes down in distance and has finished unplaced in both his starts over 1400m. Should be running on and could place.

Night Ruler

Could only finish a 3.1L fourth in a minor feature over 1600m in Fairview last time. Up in class, does not have the best of draws and will need to improve quite a bit.

You Know Who

Had excuses when unplaced behind Han Solo in a comeback run from a short rest last time but did win his previous course-and-distance race. Badly drawn and will need lots of luck.

Path Of Choice

Found himself way too far back from a bad draw against Han Solo last time but jumps from barrier 4 this time and could provide some good each-way value.

Surjay

Ran a 3.05L fourth behind Han Solo last time. Has to be considered as a possible winner but will have it all to do from barrier 12.

Sun Dazed

Ran far better than expected from a wide draw when fifth behind Han Solo. Is well drawn at barrier 5 but will need to reproduce that last run to feature.

Solar Power

Possibly the surprise package in the line-up as he has only raced four times for a win and two seconds. Second to Tout A Fait last time but is likely to improve.

Tout A Fait

Followed up a maiden victory with a second win, both over this course and distance. Leading apprentice Rachel Venniker rides so will benefit from weight allowance. Drawn well at barrier 3.

Poltergeist

Also comes out of the Han Solo form line but is badly drawn again, will need to find 5.5L. Does have a top jockey in S’manga Khumalo.
