| Basque Beret | Raced on dirt from second start, but was returned to turf 3 starts ago at this level. Posted 4-8-14. Returns after nearly 4 months off. Best results have come racing to left. Not promising. |
| Cosmo Ange | Filly has been racing at this level for last 11 starts with some success. Has finished on board in all but one of 4 starts since returning from 3 months off, including two 2nds, one last out on 4 December. Went quickly to front from wide draw and held ground until overtaken in stretch. Leads or runs close to pace. Nakayama looks to suit. On toes in work. |
| Cosmo Cattivo | Colt has best 7th from four starts at this level, all over 6 furlongs including Nakayama. Likely not a contender. |
| Cover Girl | Not the most agile filly but has power. Bit slow from gate last out but posted best 4th over Nakayama 1200m in 4th start at this level, all over 6 furlongs. Showed tenacity in stretch. Ground now (later in meet) may suit her style better. |
| Derma Kannon | Consistent filly raced almost solely in sprints has only missed the top three in 9 of her 16 starts and the board only 4 times. Moving up in class here. Won at Sapporo and Chukyo. With good late speed and a versatile racing style, Nakayama should suit. Based at Ritto, good results at Fukushima indicate trip east should be fine. |
| Gempachi Iron | Being given 4th start since mid-October and posted a best fifth last out over Nakayama mile. Tends to try too hard. Venue suits and shorter distance a plus. Looks fresh in morning work. Could surprise. |
| Geumeusilakko | Colt finished 3rd over Nakayama 1200m in first start at this level in first week of Nakayama meet. Broke well from wide gate. Held ground nicely. Colt may be improving, but has not shown much speed until now. |
| Grindelwald | Filly takes on 8th start at this level, with 2 finishes in money thus far. 12-9-7 over last three starts. Not promising. |
| Longing Birth | Colt showed promise early on and took on two graded-stakes races with poor results. Won over the Nakayama 1200m at level below in January but in four starts since has failed to make board. |
| Love Kelly | 3-year-old filly secured second win in late August and returned stronger at end of November. Finished a strong 2nd after going wide in stretch and gaining ground up the hill over Hanshin 1200m. Second time at Nakayama after finishing 2nd last December over same distance. Promising. |
| Osiris Brain | Versatile colt has made board in 3 of 5 starts at this level (all over 6-7 furlongs), including a second last out over Hakodate 1200m. Has second over Nakayama 1200m at level below. Showed improvement last out. Drew wide and quickened well in final stage despite traveling wide. Does better over slightly slower ground. |
| Peace Universe | 6-year-old has been trying for a third win since March 2018, some 24 starts ago. Has come close, including a third in late June this year but four Nakayama bids over 1200m last year resulted in 13-4-11-14. Likely not a contender. |
| Rastrillo | 3-year-old filly showed considerable improvement last out over Nakayama 1200m. Finished 5th, but trip was better than results indicate. Good early speed, and maintained concentration for first time. Added to repertoire by travelling in 2nd position for first time and did not shrink away from outside pressure from eventual winner. Promising. |
| Sedo Amor | Has finished far off board all but 2 times in last 9 starts at this level. Posted 13-14 most recently. Moved to turf after 4 double-digit finishes. Likely outclassed. |
| Shonan Barbie | Big filly raced at this level for first time last out over Nakayama 1200m. Moved quickly into position but faded at turn home. 6 furlongs may be too long at Nakayama. |
| Sweets Magic | Has 9-6 at this level over 5 furlongs. Is looking better for first time in a while in morning work. Tends to lead or race close to pace. Venue may suit. Wild card. |
