G1 – 1200m – Turf
| Armor | Raised his game significantly on his third and latest start when accelerating impressively on slow ground to win a 1000m G3 at Goodwood. Should be at least effective over this trip, according to pedigree. |
| Asymmetric | Has won three of his four starts – all at this trip – and is apparently laid back and easy to train. He showed a lethal turn of foot from off the speed to win a G2 at Goodwood last time. |
| Baghed | Has shown plenty of speed to win in Italy, and, though the grade is weaker there, his second in a 1200m G2 at Chantilly last month showed he could compete effectively in French group company. |
| Dizzy Bizu | A smart young performer who has won twice at Chantilly. Although second over this course and distance in a G3 here, an improved performance is going to be required for this G1. |
| Gubbass | Won his first two starts, notably when showing too much speed for 21 rivals in a valuable ‘sales race’ on fast ground at Newbury. Looked to prove himself at this trip when a close third in a Goodwood G2 last time. |
| Have A Good Day | Is the winner of three of her five starts and earned her place in this when responding well to Soumillon’s driving to win a soft-ground G3 over this course and distance earlier this month. |
| January Moon | Yet to win and surely has no chance here. |
| Josejosephine | Has won both starts, latterly outspeeding her rivals over 1000m at Longchamp in May. But the form of that has not worked out and, in any case, this is a much bigger challenge. |
| Khunan | Only once a winner but connections decided to head for this G1 after a terrific second in a G2 at Goodwood last month. Looks to prefer good or slow ground. |
| Perfect Power | Showed terrific late speed to win a G2 over 1000m on his third career start. Then appeared unlucky in a G2 at Goodwood, only getting space to challenge when it was too late at Goodwood. Has chances with better luck. |
| Quick Suzy | Showed some dazzling speed to win a 1000m G2 at Royal Ascot in June. Proven also over 1200m, her supporters will be hoping that the very good recent record of fillies in this prestigious G1 will continue. |
| Solotov | Made a career winning start over 1100m at Chantilly but appeared to be outclassed in a G3 at the same track subsequently. |
| Toimy Son | Has the advantage of having won over this course and distance and running okay when fifth in a G3 last time. But surely not good enough to win this. |
| Trident | Justified favouritism when winning easily on his debut at Longchamp over 1300m, and earned a crack at this G1 when a close third in a soft-ground G3 here this month. |
| Velocidad | Has won both her starts – both at this trip – and on different ground conditions latterly when having no difficulty winning a G2 at The Curragh. She could be very good. |
