G3 – 2500m – Turf

Alter Adler Only caught close home in the German Derby and already well-regarded by the French handicapper on the basis of two wins in conditions races here. A leading player.
Dawn Intello Extremely consistent runner who is often overlooked in the market owing to the relatively low profile of his trainer. Was second on his only previous try at this sort of distance so needs to prove he stays.
Folamour Very smart on his day for one of the very top trainers, he has switched yards and been given some easier tasks in order to rebuild confidence. He was only narrowly beaten on a return to Listed company at Vichy last time and has place claims.
Glycon Extremely lightly-raced five-year-old from a top yard. He has not quite performed up to standard in his last two starts at 2,000 metres and now tries this longer trip for the first time. Interesting if he stays.
Investor Has earned his try at a Group 3 race the hard way with a string of consistent performances under big weights in handicaps. Could run into a place at big odds but a maiden win at this level at the age of six would be a surprise.
Master Bloom Proven at around this trip in handicaps and Group 3 races in his native Sweden. Difficult to equate the form but the chances are he will find a few too strong at the end.
Mogul Dual Group 1 winner – including when defeating Exultant by three lengths in the 2020 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase – he has been supplemented for this after missing recent engagements owing to soft ground. The clear form pick if the rain stays away but soft going would bring him back to the level of his rivals.
Mr De Pourceaugnac He looked progressive as a three-year-old and beat some smart horses in a conditions race at Compiegne last September. He has not continued on that upward curve and if anything has gone backwards since. Needs to improve at this longer trip.
Northern Ruler Produced an excellent performance to defeat Bubble Gift on good to soft ground in the Group 3 Prix du Lys two starts ago. Found the very soft ground not to be to his liking when beaten comprehensively by Hurricane Lane in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris but if it stays dry he must have a major chance.
Pablo Escobarr Consistent runner at Listed and Group 3 level in Britain for one of the country’s top trainers. Last win was over 2,400 metres on good to firm ground last July but this looks a good place for him and if the rain stays away he is a leading contender.
Quebueno Has been brought along slowly by his talented trainer and won a Hannover Listed race over 2,200 metres last time. There could be more to come on only his fifth career start.
Soft Light Not beaten far in fifth in this race last year and he followed up with a good second over the same course and distance in the Group 2 Grand Prix de Deauville on his next start. His only race since over around this trip was a win at Bordeaux Le Bouscat but it’s difficult to know if the disappointments since have been down to the change in distance or a loss of form.
Star Safari He carries a small 2lb penalty for a Group 3 win at Meydan in February and ran a fine third on his return from a break behind the classy Sir Ron Priestly and Al Aasy at Newmarket last time. A leading player for a stable that does well with its runners at Deauville.
The Good Man He was second in a Group 3 at Longchamp in May, only finding Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe second In Swoop too strong at the end. Has worked his way through the handicap system and may still be able to improve further.
