1300m – Polytrack
1 | Zelote | Effective at this trip but his best efforts so far have not come at Deauville. Nor did he show much at Longchamp last time. |
2 | Snowball Jackson | His two wins have come on Chantilly’s polytrack surface, including at this distance. Well beaten at Longchamp last time but had a poor trip. |
3 | J’aurais Du | Hard to win with, competing over a variety of distances and on a variety of surfaces. Does at least having winning and placed Deauville form. |
4 | Louve Dream | Has made very little impact in recent starts but returns to a venue and surface that he has won over, although only in maiden company. |
5 | Reine De Vitesse | A modest performer when UK based, also struggling to make an impact in France after trying a variety of distances. Did manage a minor race win over 1350m. |
6 | Katafonic | Drops down dramatically in trip after some very disappointing performances, his last two wins coming over 2000m. |
7 | Joyful Trinity | Not the force he once was in Hong Kong, going close to a G1 win at Sha Tin in 2017. A polytrack surface may perhaps help bring about a revival. |
8 | Bocciatore | Has been in good shape. Versatile trip and surfacewise, this consistent gelding has gone close to victory at Longchamp on his last two starts. |
9 | Le Solaire | Did win a sprint for a different stable last year, and, though not consistent, nearly sprang a shock win in a Longchamp handicap in April. |
10 | Fuchsia | Raced exclusively on the all-weather when trained in the UK, winning a 1200m handicap. Some improvement needed to win this. |
11 | Maksab | Did run a close second over 1500m here in March. Has mostly been campaigned over longer trips than this. |
12 | On The Sea | It is 19 runs since his last win. More positively he did win a handicap over this course and distance back in 2018. |
13 | Art Premier | In good shape last time when third in a 1200m Deauville handicap on slow turf ground. Versatile in terms of surface and distance. |
14 | French Pegasus | Has a low winning strike-rate but did manage to win over this course and distance back in 2019. Very well handicapped if he can recapture something like that. |
15 | Havana Bound | She may have needed her first start after a break when struggling on turf here last time. Her record suggests that she’s best on an all-weather surface. |
16 | Kenzydancer | Twice won claimers – including at this trip- on the all-weather at Chantilly in 2020. But didn’t show much on his only previous Deauville start. |
