| La Boheme | Moved to dirt from this year. Has best 4th over Chukyo 1400m in 4 starts. Returned from 3-month layoff for poor showing in Chukyo 1200m but extra distance a plus. Improvement expected. Has not had success at Hanshin but worth a wager. |
| Lumiere Soleil | Returned to JRA from NAR circuit in spring 2020 and made money in two starts over Tokyo 1400m. Returned end May after year off for poor showing in Tokyo 1400m but improvement expected. Ample chance. |
| Max Brocade | Started career with 7-5-7 with JRA, then moved to NAR circuit, where very successful over 1400m. Back at JRA to Niigata 1200m last out, but missed break and finished last. Likely not competitive here. |
| Meisho Michinoku | Started with JRA, moved to NAR with success and returned to JRA one year and 8 starts ago. Has been given primarily 1200m to 1400m with best 2nd over Hanshin 1200m, but has made board in 4 other starts, including at 1400m and in mixed company. Good chance amid this field. |

| Ruler The Queen | Left JRA after 4 starts, successful with NAR. Returned 5 starts ago with two finishes on board over 1700m and 1800m. Speed likely not competitive here but could surprise with versatile racing style. |
| T M Queen | Chronically late out of gate 4-year-old notched best third in early June after 11 starts at this level. Broke maiden over Hanshin 1400m at end 2019. Chance amid these members. |
