G2 – 2841m – Turf
1 |
Arturo Toscanini |
Stable have a great record in this though rain would help for him. Looked as though he would thrive over further when second in a 2000m G3 at The Curragh. |
2 |
Benaud |
On his first start since being gelded he was a comfortable winner over 2000m on soft ground at Naas last month. A longer trip and likely much quicker ground here. |
3 |
Dancing King |
Has won all four handicap starts this season and appears to have relished going up to this sort of trip when winning off top weight at Doncaster last time. Stable with a good record in this. |
4 |
Dirham Emirati |
Lightly raced, he won an uncompetitive affair at Newcastle and then ran a decent third last start. More needed. |
5 |
Golden Flame |
Has won his last two starts, looking like a real stayer when galloping his rivals into submission from the front at Chelmsford last time. Rises significantly in class. |
6 |
Kemari |
Having just his third start with last month’s win being only in maiden company. But he thrashed his rivals then and looks the type to do well up in class and at this distance. |
7 |
Kyprios |
Certainly doesn’t seem to be the stable’s first string here. He didn’t respond to pressure when disappointing at Lingfield last time. Trying a longer trip. |
8 |
Law Of The Sea |
Looked smart when winning his first two 2021 starts but then flopped in a G3 at Chester – the slow ground being blamed. This extra trip not sure to help. |
9 |
Pied Piper |
Looks a tricky character and was well behind today’s rival Zinc White in a 2800m handicap at Sandown last month. |
10 |
Recovery Run |
His two outings this season were trials for the Derby at Epsom but both times he failed to make a serious impact. His top stable must think it worth trying for this G2 prize. |

Ruling |
Yet to win in three starts and still looked inexperienced when tried in a 2400m Listed event at Leopardstown this month. But there was a lot to like about the way he was finishing then. This trip might well suit. |
12 |
Stowell |
This is just his third start having won an Ascot maiden last month. Up in class and distance and against mostly more experienced rivals. Fitted with a tongue-strap here. |
13 |
Taipan |
All three of his starts this season have been in G3 company over 2000m. He did best first time. Has blinkers applied here. |
14 |
Wordsworth |
Although a beaten odds-on favourite at Navan on his latest start, he has improved race by race and that Navan Listed defeat was narrow and suggested he would stay this trip. |
15 |
Zinc White |
A clearly improving gelding who has won both handicap starts this year in very decisive style, storming clear in the Sandown straight last time. Slow ground best. |
