1598m – Turf

1

Lights On

Must shoulder top weight but she has won both her starts this season in the manner of an improved filly. Her win last time when probably in front too soon was over this course and distance – a plus.

2

Tomorrow’s Dream

From a hugely successful stable but struggling to win off her current handicap rating. Ran respectably when fourth in a G3 at Epsom this month and may be better suited to Ascot.

3

Waliyak

Faces some race-hardened rivals on this first 2021 start. However she ran really well on her first start last year, runner-up in another Royal Ascot handicap though higher in the weights now.

4

Stunning Beauty

Two dismal Meydan runs this year, but she is unbeaten in the UK and showed plenty of guts to win at Doncaster this month. A 3lb rise looks fair.

5

Dreamloper

Too free and also had a troubled trip when slightly disappointing as favourite on her 2021 return. Under pressure fully 600m out here last time, but she responded really well only just failing to win.

6

So I Told You

Has improved since moving from the UK  to Ireland winning two Sligo handicaps last month. Her record suggests that easing ground would be a big plus.

7

Pholas

Came with a powerful finish to win a valuable Lingfield all-weather event in April. Yet to win on turf and last of seven in an Epsom G3 this month. Quick ground may help her cause.

8

Mostly

Yet to win on turf but has run decently on it with her stable thinking that she might do best on ground good or slower. She won a 1600m all-weather handicap at Kempton in March.

9

Apricot Moon

Stable in great form but this filly is yet to finish anywhere near the money in four turf starts – including at Nottingham last time. Hard to fancy despite a slowly easing handicap mark.

10

Declared Interest

With no stamina worries she might push the pace, and she looked happy in front when leading throughout to win a Leicester handicap on her 2021 return. Up 6lb in the weights.

11

Separate

Has not won since 2019 and does not appear to have improved since moving stables prior to her last two starts.

12

Caspian Queen

A worry is that her pedigree does not scream stamina on her first career start at this trip. But she arrives in good shape, having surged from the back to win a 1400m Kempton handicap.

13

Angel Of The Glen

Her stamina ran out at Ayr last time after she had raced much too freely. Better down to this trip but still not an obvious winner.

14

Quickstep Lady

Up in distance in an attempt to increase her modest winning strike-rate. Well supported in the betting in a fillies’ handicap at Doncaster last time, but was never travelling like a winner.

15

Dalanijujo

Made a solid start to 2021 when – despite racing too keenly early on – she showed a good attitude to win a Yarmouth handicap over a similar trip to this. Off a 4lb higher mark now.

16

Lola Showgirl

Put in the best run of her career on her only 2021 start, leading almost from the gate and then showing courage late on to win that soft-ground 1400m York handicap No trip worries.

17

Ffion

Very lightly raced but showing plenty of ability on this season’s two starts especially when front-running tactics almost resulted in a heavy ground handicap victory at Haydock. Up in trip.

18

Miss Mulligan

She did beat four rivals in a handicap over a similar trip to this last season. But that was a stamina test on heavy ground and all her starts this season have been over longer trips.
