The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting the Japan Cup from Tokyo Racecourse during the Sha Tin race meeting on Sunday, 29 November (race time 2:40pm).
The Japan Cup (G1 2400m for 3yo+) was first run in 1981 and has built a reputation over the years for being one of the finest mile and a half contests in the world. A purse of 648 million yen (approximately HK$48 million) makes it the joint richest race in Japan alongside the Arima Kinen.
The 2020 Japan Cup promises to be the most eagerly awaited race of the Japanese racing season with a host of top names set to clash. Almond Eye, the superstar mare who is looking to end her career on a high note, will meet an exceptional pair of three-year-old’s, Contrail and Daring Tact, the unbeaten winners of both the Triple Crown for Colts and Fillies, plus Glory Vase, the 2019 G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase winner.
Final declarations with barrier draws for the Japan Cup will be available on Friday, 27 November.
