Gutsy filly with excellent early speed, best finish, a 3rd since moving to this class 6 starts ago. Finished on the board in 3 recent starts. Primed and the flat homestretch at Kyoto a plus.

Chouette Nouvelle

Chronically slow out of the barriers. Tried longer distances last 2 starts but unsuccessful. Returns to 1200m this time. Not promising.

Colorature

Failed to finish better than 5th since moving up to this class 11 starts ago. Only beat home one in this race last year. Likely outclassed.

Compounder

Good late speed. Ran fairly in his last 4 starts in this grade. Could surprise with the right run.

Crown Lucifer

Raced nearly exclusively over 1000m & 1200m. Unplaced in past 22 starts since May 2018. Not competitive.

First Folio

Half-sister to G1 winners Epiphaneia and Saturnalia. Rising quickly through the ranks. Notched back-to-back win a class below over Sapporo 1200m on 5 September last out. Excellent speed. Tactically versatile.

First Force

Second start since moving up in class. Looked one-paced when finishing 6th at Chukyo 1200m last out. First time at Kyoto but proven on right-handed track. Runs on or close to pace.

Five Force

Has ability but sometimes misses the break, as is the case in his poor performance last out. Did well when sat midfield early for 0.5L 2nd over 1200m at Sapporo in July. Should not overlook. Needs fast track.

Good Jewelry

Last win in September 2019 but she finished in top 4 three times during this barren spell, including last out in a Chukyo 1200m in September. Switching to Kyoto a plus. Could surprise.

Juranville

Placed in a 1400m G2 last year. Excellent speed. Not won but consistently hit the board since moving to this class 9 starts ago. Twice-placed this year but only finished 7th on a sloppy track at Kyoto 1400m on 10 October last out. Improvement likely and shorter distance a plus. Races from a forward position. Promising.

Maruka Tenor

Won back-to-back late last year but well beaten in all 3 starts over 1200m since stepping up to this grade. Likely outclassed.

Muscoloso

Sometimes late out of the barriers but he does possess good speed. Ran fairly last 2 starts. Could surprise.

Naglering

Best finish a 6th in 6 starts in this class. Decent speed but lacks kick. Not competitive.

San Jose Tesoro

Best a 4th since moving up to this class 6 starts ago. First time at Kyoto. Prepped and could surprise.

Sara Dream

Best finish a 3rd in August 2019 since moving up to this level. Has decent speed but lacks muscle. Likely to be outclassed.

Shonan Ariana

Enduring a lengthy drought since moving up to this class, but showed improvement with 3-4-4 at Sapporo this summer. Done poorly at Kyoto in the past.  But now more muscular, should bring better results.

Sky Passion

Ran 2L 3rd at Kokura over 1200m in September last out, his first top-three effort since February 2017. Favoured by light weight and the tight track at Kokura. Not so forgiving at Kyoto this time.  Finished 14th in this race last year.

World for Love

Has two 4ths from 4 starts at this level. Speed decent and has good kick. Could surprise with right trip.
