G1 – 1400m – Turf

Crew Dragon A consistent colt but this is his first venture in a Group race so chances are he will be outclassed. Also yet to prove himself properly effective at 1400m.
Earthlight A winner of seven of his eight starts – including two G1’s – and he may well start favourite. Took well to this course and distance with a narrow but smooth victory last month.
Irska May not have the speed for this as she has won over as far as 2100m. However she did post a clear career best last time when surging late to win a Deauville G3.
Lancaster House Will need to be forgiven a dismal last run. Much better previously when leading, fighting hard and finishing second in a G2 at The Curragh. Handles slow ground.
Lope Y Fernandez Not beaten far when twice placed in G1’s at Deauville in the summer, closing from the back each time. Could never get into the action at Haydock last time, but still a player here.
One Master Has won this for the past two years, delivering a sustained challenge each time. Slow ground and this trip are her ideal requirements. Recent starts suggest she’s as good as ever.
Pretreville Seems to run best after a break, his best 2020 start coming first time out when he led throughout to comfortably win a Chantilly G3. Probably not quite smart enough to win this.
Rubaiyat Successful at a Group level in Germany and Italy though over a little further than this. Not beaten far but just lacked the finishing kick of two rivals in a Baden-Baden G2 last time.
Safe Voyage At least as good as ever, winning G2’s at York and Leopardstown on his last two starts. Slightly unlucky when fourth in this last year – he could easily get closer this time.
Speak In Colours Had a busy and successful summer, but has had a break after disappointing last time. Overtaken by two rivals in the closing stages of this last year, and only just gets this trip.
Speak Of The Devil Only won on her debut but she has run some excellent races at the top level, including when just failing to land a shock win in a Deauville G1. Down to this trip for the first time.
Spinning Memories Twice a G3 winner but has struggled on her last two ventures in G1 company. She does at least have winning form over this course and distance on slow ground.
Toro Strike A decisive defeat of 16 rivals in a Goodwood handicap led to him moving up to G3 at Goodwood – leading most of the way and finishing a courageous second. This looks tougher.
Tropbeau Never looked like winning when favourite for the French 1000 Guineas at Deauville. Also ran dismally two starts back but showed much more flair when runner-up last time.
