G1 – 1200m – Turf
| Nature Strip | Fast and talented sprinter who’s won 13 races from 22 starts. Led throughout in 3L win from Redzel in G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m – soft) at Randwick on 7 March. 1.3L 4th in the Everest last October – at only 1200m start here. Won on good, soft and heavy ground. Won barrier trial 27 March. |
| Pierata | Finished strongly on day suiting leaders when 2.3L in G1 Galaxy (1100m – soft) at Rosehill on 21 March. Finished alongside Nature Strip in last year’s Everest. Three time Randwick 1200m winner, capable on good and soft ground and better suited under the conditions of this race. |
| Santa Ana Lane | Strong finisher. Conceded too great a start, in on pace race, when 4.7L 6th to Nature Strip in G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m – soft) at Randwick on 7 March. Multiple G1 winner was 4th to Beat The Clock in last year’s G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m) at Sha Tin and 2nd in the Everest here. 2nd to Nature Strip in 27 March trial. |
| Redzel | Evergreen 7YO who won the Everest, this course and distance, in 2017 and 2018. Had run of race and battled well when 3L 2nd to Nature Strip in G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m – soft) at Randwick on 7 March. Since 3rd to Nature Strip and Santa Ana Lane in barrier trial. Capable all conditions. |
| Trekking | Not raced since 30 November when 3.1L 4th to Hey Doc in G1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m – good) at Ascot. That followed Everest third place and 1300m 2nd to Pierata. Won barrier trial on 27 March. Best form on good rated tracks. |
| Vegadaze | Appreciated drop back in distance when all-the-way head winner in G3 Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m – soft) at Rosehill last Saturday. Up in class but front-runner with good overall record on good and soft ground. |
| Bivouac | Talented 3YO who scored dominant 2.5L win from Loving Gaby in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m – soft) at Flemington on 7 March. Led from barrier 1 when 2.75L 3rd to Loving Gaby in the G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m – good) at Moonee Valley on 20 March. Capable all conditions. |
| In Her Time | Made late ground to finish 2.4L 6th to I Am Excited in G1 Galaxy (1100m – soft) at Rosehill on 21 March. Consistent mare with good record this course and distance. Has won on soft ground but best form on good tracks. |
| Exceedance | Won G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m – soft) down Flemington straight course last November. Below best two runs since. Latest was 4.7L 6th to Loving Gaby in G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m – good) at Moonee Valley on 20 March. Back to right handed track may suit. Capable all conditions but does excel on soft and heavy ground. |
| Tofane | Strong finisher whose run was better than looks when 4.8L 7th to Bivouac in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m – soft) at Flemington on 7 March. Then finished well when 0.3L 3rd to I Am Excited in G1 Galaxy (1100m – soft) at Rosehill on 21 March. |
| White Moss | Raced handy on fast pace when 6.7L 4th in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m – soft) at Randwick on 7 March. Consistent mare who races on speed but needs new peak to win here. |
| Standout | Promising 3YO with four wins from six starts. Impressed at first run this year when 1.5L win in G2 Expressway Stakes (1200m – good) at Randwick on 1 February. Then failed to handle conditions and eased down by jockey when 13.4L 6th in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m – soft) on 7 March. Since won barrier trial on 20 March. |
| Loving Gaby | Smart 3YO filly in the first three at ten of her 12 starts. Chased well when 2.5L 2nd to Bivouac in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m – soft) at Flemington on 7 March. Then ridden on speed when 1.25L winner from Gytrash and Bivouac in G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m – good) at Moonee Valley on 20 March. |
