1800m – Turf

Air Gene

Coming off 3rd in Tokyo 2400m on 19 October despite poor trip. Has 2 wins at Nakayama over 1800m and 2000m, also posted 10-7 at graded-stakes level. Good acceleration, good late speed. Can race from any position. Good on heavier ground. Ample track work. Chance if relaxes.

Big Picture

Has 6 finishes in top three from 8 starts. Won over 1800m a class below at Kokura in August, before 10th of 12 in the G2 Rose Stakes (1800m) at Hanshin last out. First time at Nakayama but has win at right-handed Kokura. Good speed. Tends to race from midfield. Promising.

Clipper

Has finished in top three spots in 6 of 8 career starts, with 2 wins at Nakayama over 1800m and 2000m at lower levels. Was 7th here last year. Finished 3rd in Tokyo 2000m last out on 9 November. Races from forward position. Good speed. Return to Nakayama a plus.

Daiwa Etoile

Moved from debut over turf to dirt, where posted 3 wins and 3 seconds in 6 starts, all in 1600-1800m range. Double-digit finishes in 3 starts since moving to this level. Now back on turf. Wild card.

Danon Poppy

Won 2 of 5 starts, with wins over Tokyo 1800m and Fukushima 2000m. Moving up in class. First time at Nakayama. Decent speed. Could surprise.

Flashing Gem

Only raced three times, all on dirt and over 1800m. Won debut at Nakayama, then Niigata, and finished 8th at this class at Niigata. Moving to turf for first time. Wild card.

Folktale

Notched second career win over Sapporo 1800m on 11 August. Moved to this class and finished 5th in Kyoto mile last out. Ran 2nd over Nakayama 1800m back in January. Good speed. Return to venue, distance both pluses.

Gift of Art

Only missed board in one of 13 starts. Posted two 3rds and four 2nds before breaking maiden at Sapporo in July. Moving up in class after winning last out over Fukushima 1800m on 10 November. Better than average speed. Could surprise.

Greatest

Consistently in top three. Has experience racing to right, including 2nd in Nakayama 2000m last December. Won last out over Fukushima 1800m on 9 November. Leads or races from forward position. Can handle heavier going. Looking good in track work. Promising.

Jo Book Kommen

Has 16 top 3 finishes from 29 starts. Last 5 starts brought three 2nds at this level, all over 1800m. Coming off strong 2nd over Tokyo 1800m, at this class and mixed company, on 24 November. Does well on heavier ground. Tends to race from midfield. Good speed.

Lofty Phrase

Moved to this class at the start of the year and given 6 starts, finished 7-2-2 in last 3, all over 1800m, including 2nd at Nakayama in mixed company on 16 September. Last raced on 10 November. Won debut at Nakayama. Return to venue a plus.

Miracle Blood

Both wins on dirt over 1800m. Has 3 thirds (one on turf over 1800m) in last 11 starts at this class. Returned after six weeks off to finish 5th last out in Niigata 1800m on heavy dirt on 6 October. Finished third in Nakayama 1800m back in September, 2018. Good speed. Looking good in work. Could surprise.

Plus

Race primarily over 1400m. Has 5 starts at this class with 8-3-5 in last 3 starts, including Tokyo 1800m last out on 19 October. Handled distance well. Wins both came over left-handed Chukyo but has two thirds racing to right. First time at Nakayama. Good speed. Could surprise.

Sing for You

Two wins and 3 seconds from 8 starts. Has 2 seconds over Nakayama 1600m and broke maiden over Nakayama 1800m. Took on the G1 Shuka Sho (2000m) at Kyoto last out on 13 October, finished 14th of 17 after racing from outside gate. Prefers fast track. Decent speed. Could surprise.

Tafelmusik

Took on first start at this level in August and finished 3rd over Sapporo 1800m against males. Raced again only six days later and finished 15th in Sapporo 2000m. Ritto-based. First time at Nakayama. Returning after 4-month layoff. Could surprise.

Tosen List

Finished 2nd twice in 3 starts since moving to this class, first over Nakayama mile, then Tokyo 1800m. Disappointed when 14th over Tokyo mile last out on 3 November in mixed company. Believed due to tough schedule. Has led or raced in second position in last 4 starts. Good speed. Two months off, distance and all-female company all advantageous.
