4-year-old has best a 4th from last 7 starts. Finished 4th and 5th in last two runs at this level, with a 9th over course and distance over sloppy ground before that. Versatile. Has improved. Could surprise with fast track.

Ho O Monterey

3-year-old filly with 1 win and 3 placings in 10 starts. Raced predominately over 1400m. Returned in late September after 3 months off, ran 4th in most recent start at the course and distance on 10 Nov latest. Chronically late out of the gate. Has excellent late speed and holds ground well. Could win if breaks well. Likely popular pick.

Jogar Bonito

3-year-old colt with 5 finishes in top three from 13 starts. Broke maiden on 11th start over Tokyo 1400m, then finished 6th and 12th at this level after returning from 4-month layoff. Lacks speed. Not promising.

Jordan Heroine

4-year-old filly who scored twice at the NAR track of Sonoda last year. Moved back to JRA circuit since but well beaten in his last four starts since. Not a contender.

Latericius

Huge front-running 3-year-old filly with only 6 career starts, won once in a 1700m at Fukushima over a year ago.  But she did poorly in 4 starts this year. Returning after 3 1/2 months off. Average speed.

Logi Gimlet

3-year-old colt from Sakae Kunieda stable has 1 win, 1 second from 9 starts. Returned in October from 2 months off and posted 4th in two recent runs over Tokyo 1400m, last on Nov 2. Distance, venue suit. Versatile. Excellent late speed but can’t sustain. Likely popular pick.

Marvelous Queen

3-year-old filly with only 8 starts, having won a 1400m maiden on turf two starts back. Started career with debut second in Nakayama 1200m on dirt. Moved back to dirt for the first time since January. Wild card.

Meiner Renka

5-year-old with only 3 finishes in top three from 30 starts has made board in 4 of last 5 starts. Finished 5th at the course and distance last out on 10 Nov after 2 months off. Tends to race from good position. Distance suits. Worth a wager.

Moon Road

5-year-old mare moved to NAR circuit with success, notching 4 wins at Morioka and Mizusawa. Then returned to JRA and stable of Miho-based Yoshihiro Hatakeyama for 2 starts and double-digit finishes. Returning after layoff of nearly a year and a half. Wild card.

Nishino Amata

3-year-old filly won over Tokyo 1300m on 7th start. Well beaten in 3 starts since, including last of 16 in Tokyo 1400m after returning from 5-month layoff latest. Ran at back entire race. Never fired. Not promising.

Ptah

4-year-old colt from Makoto Saito stable has 2 seconds and 2 thirds from 7 starts this year in 1200-1400m range, including second in Tokyo 1300m two starts back. Found bled last time. Returning after 5 1/2 months off but has done well without prep before. Could surprise.

Seiun del Rey

4-year-old colt has only 1 win, in April 2018, from 18 starts. Has best two 4ths in 11 starts since. Best form on yielding and heavy tracks but lacks overall speed. Not promising.

Suzuno Ume

3-year-old filly won over Nakayama 1200m but has best a 5th in 4 starts since, all over 1200m. Extra furlong not likely to help. Speed only average.

Temmontomu

3-year-old colt raced primarily over turf, moved back to dirt in 3 recent starts. Posted 4-7-7 over 1150-1200m. Versatile. Extra furlong could help.

Yancha Pre Hime

3-year-old filly broke maiden in March and had best 4rth in next 6 starts. Improved for 2nd against tough opponent at the course and distance last out on 10 Nov. Has added muscle. Speed greatly improved. Condition maintained. Promising.
