The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast eight races from the Singapore Gold Cup Day meeting to be held at Kranji Racecourse on Sunday, 10 November (1st race starts at 2:10pm).
The Singapore racing season reaches a thrilling climax with the running of the time-honoured SIN G1 Singapore Gold Cup (2000m for 3yo+, 3rd leg of the Singapore Triple Crown Series). Unlike the Raffles Cup (1st leg) and the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2nd leg), which are run under weight-for-age conditions, the Singapore Gold Cup is a handicap based on a compressed scale of two points per pound to encourage participation of horses lower on the rating scale.
The day’s other features include the SIN G3 Saas Fee Stakes for 3yo sprinters over 1200m and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy, the annual reciprocal race in recognition of the long-standing relationship between the two racing authorities in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Details of the Singapore Gold Cup Day races will be announced later in the week. Final declarations with barrier draws will be available on the morning of Friday, 8 November.
